First Star Multidisciplinary Centers of Excellence
Bridges to Excellence 2006-2007 Conference Series
Bridges to Excellence is a series of three invitational conferences for experts in a variety of child welfare disciplines to be held in 2006-2007 by First Star and its collaborative partners: Columbia Law School in New York, the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and the University of San Diego School of Law. The purpose is to bring together experts from a variety of disciplines addressing child welfare across the country to share research and strategies for multidisciplinary training and practice.
First Star has partnered with the three conference host law schools to establish Multidisciplinary Centers of Excellence (MCEs). The MCEs will develop an interdisciplinary curriculum for graduate students of law, social work, psychology, nursing, journalism, pediatric healthcare and public health – in addition to continuing education for practicing judges, attorneys and social workers made available nationwide via distance-learning technology.
