Congratulations to our Honorees!

Ms. Robin Sax is a former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney who specializes in prosecuting sex crimes against children. Ms. Sax has written six books that draw upon her vast experience as a sex-crimes prosecutor, legal commentator, child advocate, and parenting expert. While working with law enforcement, victims' advocates, social workers, and members of the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, she investigated and prosecuted hundreds of child sexual assault cases.
Mr. Gregory Jacob is a partner at the law firm Winston & Strawn LLP in the firm's Washington, D.C. office whose practice focuses on labor and employment law. He has previously served in several high-profile positions in the federal government, including at the White House, Department of Justice, and Department of Labor. First Star is proud to honor Greg for his landmark pro bono work on behalf of children who are victims of sexual or physical abuse, through the national non-profit organization Justice for Children.
Ms. Melissa Smith is a Foster Care Alumna who is currently earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Catholic University of America. She has previously served as the President of the Maryland Foster Youth Resource Center and as Vice President of the Maryland Chapter of Foster Care Alumni of America.
