UCF joined the First Star family in July 2015. It is unique in having been established wholly through the leadership of the local child welfare agency, Community-Based Care of Central Florida. After three successful summers, the University of Central Florida has wrapped its arms around the program, and have taken control of academy operations, ensuring a curriculum focused on the educational needs of academy youth.
