Become a Volunteer Big Brother Big Sister
Volunteers are needed to be matched with a Little Brother or Little Sister who is in the Foster Care system and have fun outings in the community twice a month for 2 – 4 hours at a time. We are especially looking for volunteers who would be interested in mentoring a current 9th grade student and encouraging high school success and college readiness. You get to be a kid again while you give a child the invaluable gift of friendship.
Who We Are
A local affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America; we are non-denominational and help youth of all beliefs and backgrounds throughout Los Angeles County reach their potential through one-to-one mentoring relationships.
We have partnerships throughout the community including school districts, social service providers, faith groups, college Greek/Alumni groups, and youth prevention programs. We have a special collaboration with the First Star UCLA Bruin Guardian Scholars Academy which provides college preparatory services to LA County Foster Youth on the UCLA campus. You can also help us recruit more volunteers by introducing us to a “volunteer-rich” group to host an information session and offer volunteer opportunities.
