First Star Foster Youth Help Haitian Special Olympics TeamIf you follow our Facebook page, you may already know that a group of foster youth from the First Star Bruin Guardians Academy have been learning – and teaching – lessons about giving.

These young high school foster youth are in  in the middle of the David Nathan Meyerson Random Acts of Kindness and Pay it Forward Class, as part of the First Star program at UCLA. Each student writes an essay proposing where they wish $200 to be donated.

While attending the Special Olympics, also going on at the UCLA campus, these young people noticed that the Haitian team did not have top-grade equipment, and decided to do something about it.  ESPN picked up the story, and well, read it here…
